The Household of Ruth duties are to enlarge the active interests and cooperation of the families of Odd Fellows on behalf of the Order, to fully participate and show the value of their fruitful labor and services by admitting them to membership, and to unite them with their sons, brothers, fathers, and husbands in one great, happy, and prosperous family, cemented, strengthened, and perpetuated by the social scared, and marvelous influence of the Household of Ruth, which is entwined with the bonds and blessed with the innumerable blessings of Friendship, love, and Truth.

The Household of Ruth shall be composed of financial members of the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows and their wives, widowed mothers, unmarried daughters, sisters, widows, step and adopted daughters of all Odd Fellows in good standing, and of those who have died in the Brotherhood.

Every applicant for admission to the Household of Ruth shall be received and referred to the committee of Management for admission. Upon reception of the application shall report at the next regular convening of the Household.

Every female eligible to membership, and every Noble Grand desiring admission to full membership in the Household of Ruth shall present through a Ruthtie, who shall sign it as a voucher, an application as form accompanied by a certificate of good health from a regular physician, and the admission fee.

Persons desiring to open a new Household of Ruth of the Order are advised to organize an association for the purpose of securing new members, acquiring full and correct information, raising means, and making all the necessary arrangements for the opening of a new Household of Ruth.

Application for a warrant to open a new Household of Ruth shall be made to the Committee of Management, America through a financial Household of Ruth, for which the applicant shall pay assessment to the District Grand Household of Ruth with a petition of five individuals. They also must summit an assessment to the Committee of Management, America, which shall be in full warrant, Rituals, and one dozen General Laws of the Household of Ruth.

In Districts where there is no District Grand Household of Ruth, application for a warrant to open a household of Ruth shall be made to the Committee of Management, America, through the District Grand Lodge.
