Brother Crawford knew early on that he wanted to join in the fight for the rights of his people especially in his hometown of #jacksonvillefl….

Born May 16, 1891, Bro. Crawford later attended the locally segregated public schools and then matriculated to the #CookmanInstitute. He attended #HowardUniversity from 1911 to 1918 after receiving his JD.

He returned to Florida and became the first, and the only African American member of the Bar Association. Another black man would not be admitted to the bar for 28 years….

He was a member of the Duval County Republican Executive Committee, a member of #AlphaPhiAlpha , a member of the #KnightsofPythias and ofcourse our brother in the #GrandUnitedOrderofOddfellows

He maintained an office at 622 W. Duval St.
